Leo Club March Meeting

Agenda:

-Nominations recorded for next meeting voting

-Service Hours into Naviance x2Vol

-Spring Events

Board roles explained:

-President and Vice President work together with Mr. and Mrs. Langan to find and coordinate opportunities for service, face of Leo Club

-Secretary records official meeting minutes, keeps track of attendance at events

-Treasurer helps keep track of fundraising from Kettlecorn, etc

-Communications keeps website up to date and GroupMe up to date, must know basic HTML coding

**Record service hours ASAP, see Mrs. Langan for amount and enter in Naviance (use alangan@wcboe.org as reference). If Naviance login does not work, see guidance.

Spring Events:

Tim Kennard Run Sunday March 22nd

-arrive by 7:30 at SU Commons Steps

-sign-up sheet sent

CANCELLED Salisbury Marathon Saturday April 4th

-arrive by 7:15 at Royal Farms on Dykes Rd

-Leos run a water station

-sign-up sheet sent

Board of Ed Wellness Run Friday April 17th (after school)

-located at Pemberton Park

-time TBD

-sign-up sheet sent

Fruitland Spaghetti Dinner Saturday April 18th

-3:30-7:30

-dinner is a fundraiser (like ours at school) to raise money for Lions Clubs around Delmarva

-Leos serve food and meet Lions

Ramp Build Saturday April 25th

-two shifts: 7am-12pm, 12pm-finish

-location not known yet

-one of our biggest events in spring

-sign-up sheet sent

Library Book Sorting Sunday April 26th

-10am-2pm, lunch provided (probably pizza)

-use back entrance

-we help library sort books that are donated

Other:

Mr. Langan talks about Parkside's chartered Leo Club

-they received certificate of charter

-will join us at Tim Kennard run

-they will have a ceremony in April welcoming members, we are invited to attend

-they are trying to establish themselves individually but may need help from us

Mr. Langan talks about leadership

-considering COVID-19, stay informed and make decisions based on facts

-Board of Ed is doing what they can to keep us safe

-Cancelling school is a big decision because some students don't have food or safe homes
